Meet Lonnie. Her venture “Danish Delights” tempts with Danish style, gluten free cakes and brownies. Creativity is not new to this ex-jewelry maker, though she chooses to specialize in a few varieties only. This reflects her motto of quality above quantity, and she uses the highest quality ingredients for baking, even if it means her products are a little above market price.
Lonnie’s smiling, positive attitude belies her tumultuous personal life. She deals with it by helping other women set up home based businesses, and is passionate about women’s stories being voiced and shared. Besides feeling indebted to her mentor at Her Rise Above for the emotional support, she says that “they helped with A-Z of everything involved in setting up my home business, starting from product planning to making the logo stickers for the cake boxes.” Lonnie is realistic about her own limitations, but has the courage and faith to face roadblocks.
